Enhancing the Quality of the ISP Series is a sequence of courses that focus on the development and implementation of the Individual Support Plan. The series includes live sesssions, webcast, support documents and resources based on current ODP Bulletins and established current practice. Courses will continue to expand over the next year including information on the ISP Manual and using Assessments. Announcements will be sent to all interested parties when new courses are released.
Part 1 - Applying the Principles of Person Centered Planning
This personal and professional development session focuses specifically on applying the principles of person-centered planning in supporting people with life planning. These live, instructor led sessions were conducted statewide in May and June 2010. Participants practice and receive immediate feedback on their use of Rituals and 2 Person Centered Thinking tools (Important To and Important For, and What Makes Sense/What Doesn't Make Sense). Additional sessions are being planned and will be announced when available. If you are interested in hosting a three-hour session at your agency/organization, please send an email to the ODP/OCS Help Desk at ocs-odponlinehelp@tiu11.org. Participation in Applying the Principles of Person Centered Planning is not required, but encouraged prior to viewing Parts 2 and 3 of this series.
Part 2: Foundations of ISP Development
This one hour webcast focuses on the Individual Preferences and Understanding Communication sections of the ISP as well as other factors influencing ISP development. The purpose of the webcast is to promote a shared understanding of plan development. This course is required training for SCs and SC Supervisors in 2010. Administrative Entity (AE) staff who have responsibility for reviewing, approving, and authorizing ISPs are also required to view this webcast, per the 2010 AE Operating Agreement (Section 8.1).
